CGR is an international auto and motorcycle rally with a long route, high difficulty and large scale. With national independent intellectual property right, it is a Level 1 FIA rally as well as the world’s toughest and China’s longest of its kind. Organized by the Automobile and Motorcycling Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport and CCTV, the 1st CGR runs 16 days from September 15 to 29, 2013 and covers nearly 10,000 kilometers including 12 special stages measuring 4,000 kilometers in total.
Throughout the rally, the Haval team not only operated in good conditions, but also showed its tremendous strength, standardized operation mode and great courage as a top international team. At the finishing line, Dong Ming, commander-in-chief of Haval Team, granted an interview. For him, Haval Team demonstrated its strong combat competitiveness and its results are obvious to all. The outstanding performance of two racecars and its logistics teams in the warm-up for the 2014 Dakar Rally is the biggest harvest in addition to results. Looking to the 2014 Dakar Rally, Dong said Haval Team has been trying to make improvement despite mounting difficulty. “Maybe everyone is expecting the team to achieve better results, but the competition will be fiercer in the 2014 Dakar Rally. As it is a farewell rally for Argentina, the organizer has made great improvements and changes in terms of route setting and team form. After four years of competition in the Dakar Rally, Haval Team will make greater improvement. In the future, Haval will continue improving itself in international rallies to build China’s own auto brand,” he said.
